BASF Intertrade AG is the commodity supply, trading and hedging organization of the BASF Group and a key player in global raw material markets. To strengthen the Risk Management team in Zug, we are looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager.

Aufgaben

Protect BASF Intertrade AG from strategic, operational, legal, financial and reputational risks related to global trade compliance matters
Own the trade compliance topic end-to-end, serving as main go-to-partner for BASF Intertrade functions
Develop and implement robust, flexible, innovative and risk-adjusted trade compliance concepts
Enable flexibility for physical and derivative trading and support business growth
Ensure strict compliance with applicable international laws and corporate requirements
Maintain oversight of trade regulation developments and manage global sanction laws, product specific trade control matters, general import and export regulations and customs procedures
Liaise closely with the legal team regarding adequate contract languages and documentations
Manage know-your-counterparty (KYC) operations and initial onboarding campaigns
Monitor active business partners and chartered vessels using specialized compliance software portfolio
Conduct screenings including sanction and sustainability compliance matters
Assess existing activities, individual trades and projects to identify risks and red flags
Support contract negotiations in cooperation with management, business development, trading, mid- and back-office functions and external stakeholders
Ensure lean, robust and flexible due diligence procedures, controls, reporting and monitoring through efficient utilization and enhancement of the trade compliance IT suite
Contribute to make-or-buy-decisions regarding IT systems
Keep trainings, guidelines and quality management documentations up to date and calibrated to changing requirements
Manage stakeholders along internal and external interfaces

Profil

Master's degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Commodity Trading, Banking or related field
At least 5 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Regulatory Management or Risk Management within commodity trading, banking, insurance or consulting
Strong understanding of international sanctions, trade regulations and compliance frameworks
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with hands-on approach
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all organizational levels
High affinity for digital tools and technologies (Power BI, Power Apps, AI solutions, etc.)
Fluency in English; German is an advantage
