The Microelectronics Design Center (DZ) at ETH Zurich supports ASIC, FPGA, Embedded Systems and PCB design for research and teaching. They seek a Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Specialist to lead the analog/mixed-signal IC design infrastructure starting January 1st, 2027 or by mutual agreement.

Aufgaben

Part of an experienced team as expert for analog/mixed-signal IC design
Own and further develop the analog/mixed-signal area of IC design infrastructure to support researchers and students
Support design flows with strong focus on analog/mixed-signal using Cadence Design System, Synopsys, Graphics and open-source tools
Interact with students and researchers on IC design questions, chip finishing and IC submission to fabrication
Develop, adapt and maintain common building blocks for mixed-signal IC chips and develop larger mixed-signal ICs
Participate in design reviews with researchers and students
Develop and deliver targeted training modules and hands-on laboratory sessions
Contribute to group's web presence and prepare periodic activity reports

Profil

Experienced IC designer with strong expertise in analog/mixed-signal design
PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred
Minimum 5 years IC design experience in industry or qualified research institution
Hands-on familiarity with tape-out procedures required
Track record of multiple successful analog/mixed-signal tape-outs across various technology nodes including 22nm and FinFET required
Experience leading chip tape-out projects required
Proficiency with UNIX and scripting languages required
Experience with IC design tools from major EDA vendors required
Fluent written and spoken English required
Experience organizing technical training courses and undergraduate laboratory activities highly desirable
Strong communication skills, able to engage technical and non-technical audiences

Start: January 1st, 2027 or by mutual agreement
Location: Culmannstrasse 8, 8006 Zurich, Switzerland
Office-based with some home office hours possible by team agreement
