The NKVTC is a new public Vocational Training Centre in Kavango West Region, Namibia (established 2025). Comundo supports the Ministry of Education's initiative to improve vocational education. Your role is to establish and strengthen the centre's solar energy production unit while building trainers' and trainees' capacities.

Aufgaben

Develop and coordinate the solar energy and production hub with technical instructors, trainers and management
Strengthen practical skills of trainers and trainees in solar system design, installation and energy production according to industry standards
Provide technical capacity and knowledge sharing for NKVTC trainers and management
Support trainers' development in learner-centred teaching approaches, classroom management, practical exercises and curriculum implementation
Strengthen collaboration with private and public sector companies for job shadowing, internships and industry exposure opportunities

Profil

Qualification as a Solar Technician or Electrician
Experience in vocational training in renewable energy
Practical experience in solar energy, particularly in photovoltaic (PV) systems, system design, installation, energy production and intelligent electronic control systems
Knowledge of current renewable energy technologies, including photovoltaic systems, energy storage solutions and system integration
Ability to support the establishment and operationalisation of a small-scale solar production and/or workshop unit
Industry experience in solar PV system design (advantage)
Strong networking and knowledge-sharing skills
Proficient computer skills
Completed vocational or tertiary education
At least 5 years of professional experience
Between 30 and 60 years old
Resident in Switzerland or Swiss citizenship
Professional Working Proficiency
Intercultural competencies and ability to act in diverse contexts
Good physical and mental health
Basic knowledge in project management, institutional development and adult education (welcome)
Ability to work independently and in a team
High social and communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
Motivated to live a simple lifestyle
Prepared to contribute to public relations and fundraising for Comundo
Advanced knowledge of English
